Trustive’s MyHotspotter for Windows 8 is now available for FREE download via http://www.trustive.com/myhotspotter/windows/

Trustive’s free MyHotspotter software for Windows 8 devices is now available and provides Trustive customers with seamless detection of and connectivity to Trustive’s international WiFi hotspots, located in major cities round the world.

Trustive, a leading international WiFi hotspot operator, is pleased to be able to announce the availability of its free MyHotspotter software for Windows 8 devices. This smart client software will provide customers with seamless detection of and connectivity to Trustive’s international network of 500,000 premium WiFi hotspots, which are located in major cities and at premium sites around the world. Travellers can download this free software directly from Trustive’s website http://www.trustive.com/myhotspotter/windows/

Whilst the key benefits of using any of Trustive’s software are that they detect and then provide customers with seamless, automatic and secure authentication to Trustive WiFi hotspots, as well as a means of easily logging off afterwards, MyHotspotter for Windows 8 also includes an “Enhanced WiFi Security” feature, which can be invaluable to travellers. Based on Cisco technology, Trustive’s “Enhanced WiFi Security” feature is a web encryption system that can encrypt the user’s data between their device and the public WiFi hotspot.

Christian VanGhelder, managing director of Trustive, says “Trustive is renowned for its commitment to providing travellers with reliable, high-speed WiFi access in premium venues (e.g. airports and travel hubs, hotels, marinas, bars and restaurants etc.), enabling them to enjoy all their favourite online activities (watching videos, sharing photos, emails, VoIP and video calls etc.) whilst retaining strict control of the associated costs. Now of course, with the availability of this smart client software for Windows 8, Trustive customers will also be able to enjoy the benefits of Windows 8 as well as more secure access for ‘sensitive’ activities like making airline and hotel reservations, checking in online, shopping, banking etc., thanks to Trustive’s “Enhanced WiFi Security” feature.”

Trustive’s range of WiFi connection software and apps is available for download via Trustive’s website. Full details of Trustive’s international WiFi hotspot network (which includes 500,000 premium locations) are of course available via Trustive’s online hotspot directory: http://www.trustive.com/hotspots/.

500 000 Premium WiFi Hotspots Now Available to Trustive Customers Following Another Significant Network Expansion

Posted by Trustive on January 22, 2013

Trustive, a leading international WiFi hotspot operator, is proud to be able to announce a significant expansion in its WiFi footprint. Recent breakthroughs in Asia and in particular in China, have resulted in the addition of vast numbers of premium WiFi hotspots to Trustive’s global footprint and Trustive customers can enjoy seamless access to 500,000 premium WiFi hotspots in major cities around the world.

Seamless access to 500,000 premium WiFi hotspots now available for Trustive customers

Seamless access to 500,000 WiFi hotspots worldwide

The growing popularity of revolutionary new devices (smartphones, tablets, netbooks etc.) has lead to a massive boom in traffic but the smartphone and tablet users’ desire to contain their ‘online lifestyle’ (stream TV, videos or digital radio, follow social networks, use VoIP/IM services etc.) whilst on the move has resulted in a surge in demand for quality WiFi services which enable users to maintain the same high-level of user experience as at home whilst retaining strict control of the associated costs. Trustive is renowned for its commitment to providing travellers with reliable, high-speed WiFi access in premium venues (e.g. airports and travel hubs, hotels, marinas, bars and restaurants etc.) and in order to meet users’ high expectations, Trustive constantly strives to improve and expand its WiFi footprint; adding new premium locations, monitoring performance and usage at existing hotspots and, if required, removing any hotspots that fail to meet Trustive’s strict standards. And all of this, in order to ensure that Trustive’s WiFi network is truly world-class in terms of coverage and quality.

A crucial aspect of providing a high quality WiFi access service has to be ease of access. Travellers are no longer content to navigate a hotspot’s web page (often in a foreign language) in order to try to find out how they can log in. Seamless access is the key and travellers benefit from seamless access to Trustive’s international WiFi network thanks to a range of free connection software for laptops (Windows, Macs and Netbooks) and “Trustive WiFi” apps for smartphones and tablets (Android and iPhones/iPads), which detect and provide seamless connectivity to Trustive WiFi hotspots. Furthermore, international operators are also integrating elements of Trustive’s premium WiFi footprint into their own offering, thereby giving customers access to Trustive WiFi in premium venues (where 3G networks are often heavily congested) via their own existing smart clients.

Christian VanGhelder, managing director of Trustive, confirmed that “at Trustive, we are very proud to have achieved this milestone figure of 500,000 premium hotspots. This achievement is the result of lengthy negotiations with hotspot operators across the world in order to be able to provide Trustive customers with a low-cost but high quality hotspot service in premium locations such as at international airports and other travel hubs, in key hotel chains across the world, in bars, restaurants, marinas and other leisure venues as well as at business focussed venues like convention centres and offices. Now more than ever, customers who download our free software for their smartphones, tablets and/or laptops can enjoy seamless detection and connectivity to Trustive’s comprehensive WiFi network wherever they may be. Footprint, quality, cost and ease of access remain our top priorities.

Posted by Trustive on June 29, 2010

iPad users can get seamless WiFi access with Trustive's Easy WiFi appTrustive’s Easy WiFi app now offers iPad users the same seamless WiFi access that is enjoyed by iPhone & iPod Touch (iTouch) users.

Trustive’s Easy WiFi app was released in March 2009 in order to give customers one click access to Trustive’s international WiFi hotspot network via their iPhone or iPod Touch (iTouch) but following rigorous testing, Trustive is now very pleased to be able to confirm that this same Easy WiFi app is also fully compatible with the new iPad!

Trustive, a leading WiFi internet access provider and No1 in Europe, has long strived to provide seamless mobile internet access to travellers via a single click (one pass, a single username and password plus a range of WiFi software for both computers and smartphones that automates the log in process).

With the portability and innate usability of the iPad, applications that enable us to maintain our online lifestyles are key and Trustive’s Easy WiFi app is a prime example: starting with 30 minutes free WiFi access valid at any Trustive hotspot to get you started; an in-built hotspot locator tool enables users to plan their WiFi usage in advance; a simple online top-up facility makes purchasing additional credit a breeze; easy access to Trustive’s online account monitoring tool enables customers to view their usage 24/7 and in real-time; and finally the ‘smart link’ feature, which enables users to launch a favourite app or website directly from the Easy WiFi interface is just the icing on this technological cake.

In addition to all the above, Trustive’s clear pricing policy, which includes no hidden costs and no download quotas, means that customers can relax and enjoy staying connected with their iPads whenever and wherever they travel. Watching YouTube video clips or TV replays, sharing photos, checking e-mails, Facebook, Twitter, whatever customers want to do, Trustive’s high-speed and low-cost WiFi access makes it possible.

The biggest worldwide wireless broadband service is deployed from Europe – Trustive’s WiFi network grows to 140,000 premium locations in 70+ countries!

Posted by Trustive on May 4, 2010

London based Trustive has long aimed to unify local WiFi hotspot networks (airports, hotels, bars etc.) under one brand in order to save travellers from having to register and input their credit card details each and every time they want to connect to a different WiFi hotspot. With a Trustive pass, travellers can roam freely across a comprehensive network of hotspots, taking their credit with them wherever they go. In the face of stiff competition from big operators, this approach may have seemed risky.

However WiFi has now become so widespread, with hotspots cropping up in ever more places, that its availability is now expected in many locations, thereby encouraging users to rely on WiFi for a range of new and exciting tasks. As such, providing a reliable, high-speed WiFi access service has become a necessity for hotels, restaurants and bars, airports, leisure centres and campsites, train stations, at home and even in planes. Trustive’s WiFi network has grown in parallel, from 3000 hotspots in 2003 to an incredible 140,000 premium locations in 70+ countries worldwide, making it the No1 WiFi access provider in Europe and probably the largest in the world too.

The spread of WiFi, the improvements in technology (devices) as well as the speed of transmission all combine now to facilitate real multimedia usage. Users are no longer content just to consult their e-mails and the odd website. We use IM (instant messaging) VoIP services to keep communication costs down in countries where this is permitted. We watch YouTube videos and consult Google. We connect to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and/or any of the other networking sites where we need to be seen.

For the past 7 years, Trustive has followed this evolution establishing relationships with most of the key actors and big operators like Telefonica, BT Openzone, Swisscom, SFR, KPN, Golden Telecom, China Telecom (etc.) in order to be able to offer coverage in 70+ countries via 140,000 premium WiFi hotspot locations (hotels chains, restaurants, bars, airports, train stations, conference centres, marinas, car rentals). If you travel around China, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, Argentina or if you go to Moscow, St Petersburg, Cape Town or anywhere in Europe, having high-speed access is now completely feasible, without the need to worry about the associated cost upon your return home because billing is simple with online account monitoring (in real-time, 24/7) and no hidden costs.

To help customers, Trustive also provides free WiFi software that detects and automatically identifies Trustive hotspots and logs the customer in with just one click. The customer can also access the secure web browser via the WiFi software if required.

Over recent years, the economy has seen the collapse of large corporate structures and a shift in favour of smaller organisations. A “nomadic” population has appeared, freed from the restraints of traditional structures (offices, meeting rooms) they are conducting business in bars, restaurants and hotels, which are cheaper and much more flexible. Trustive’s 2009 customer survey results (which represent the opinion of Trustive’s customer base of 8000+ frequent travellers) confirm that Internet access in these locations is a key, deciding factor and users are now basing their travel decisions on the availability (or not) of WiFi.

Trustive’s aim remains primarily to form partnerships that will enable the new “nomads”, who travel for business and leisure, to log in with a minimum of security and a maximum of freedom, whilst respecting the prevailing legislation.

Trustive will continue to expand in areas such as Japan, Korea, Singapore and Latin America by joining forces with innovative companies in order to guarantee the provision of a secure, seamless and high-speed service with clear cost control for the user. It is highly probable that Trustive will integrate other technologies into its offering to complement its WiFi service. International 3G services remain a “back-up” solution, for limited access in case of an emergency. We should remember that it is highly recommend to deactivate the “international data roaming” service option on the iPhone before leaving your home country and that the 50 Euros maximum usage limit and service cut off on international roaming fees that was imposed on mobile operators by the European Union in 2009, is quickly reached when you travel abroad and connect using your smartphone or 3G dongle.

WiFi will remain a key part of mobile internet for a long time to come, especially as soon as users pass the border or want to do more than just check their e-mails.  Recently, the Netbook, iPhone, iPod Touch, Google phone & now the iPad have all confirmed this trend. So before travelling, for business or leisure, remember “regardless of the device you use, the important thing is to get connected!”

Trustive now welcomes payments in US dollars and British pounds!

Posted by Trustive on July 31, 2009

Today, Trustive launches a multi-currency payment system for all new customers wishing to purchase or top up a Trustive WiFi pass. Trustive, a leading international WiFi access provider and No 1 in Europe, has focussed primarily on its central European customer base until now. However with it’s recent expansion into Asia (the addition of 2,000 China Telecom hotspots, including Beijing Capital and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, was announced only last week) and concrete plans for further, significant coverage expansions in Asia and further afield, over the next few months, Trustive has chosen to reinforce its new position as a leading international WiFi access provider by providing more tailored services to those international customers who need them.

Hence, the development and launch this week of a multi-currency payment system. New customers are invited to select their preferred currency (USD, GBP or EUR) from the drop-down list at the top of Trustive’s “Buy you WiFi pass’ page. The rest of the sign up process remains unchanged, but Trustive hopes that adding little details such as this new multi-currency feature will make their service even more accessible and easy to use.

IAPA teams up with Trustive to bring their members some exclusive deals on international WiFi access!

Posted by Trustive on July 29, 2009

Trustive, a leading international WiFi hotspot access provider and No 1 in Europe, and IAPA (International Airline Passengers Association) have signed a key partnership agreement to enable all 400,000 IAPA members to benefit from Trustive’s global, one-click WiFi access service.

Trustive understands the need to stay connected when travelling and more importantly to use WiFi access wherever possible because it is far cheaper, faster and easier than 3G. Trustive already gives travellers extensive WiFi coverage by combining the WiFi hotspot locations of more than 70 leading WiFi operators into one unified, global network of WiFi hotspots (covering 65+ countries) and allowing Trustive customers access to these locations through a single click (single username and password plus a WiFi client that automates the log in process). Under this new partnership agreement, IAPA members will all now have access to this seamless service using Trustive’s WiFi client software, which is being rebranded specifically for IAPA.

IAPA members will also benefit from exclusive discounts on the standard price of Trustive’s WiFi access passes, making Trustive’s already low-cost service even greater value for money. IAPA members will be able to choose between a variety of WiFi access packages, including both pre-paid and monthly subscriptions which are designed to offer an affordable and flexible WiFi access service for both occasional and frequent travellers alike.

Jonathan French, IAPA’s Head of Brand said: “WiFi has become an essential tool for travellers today and it was therefore only natural for IAPA to partner up with one of the world’s leading WiFi internet access providers in order to guarantee a reliable and affordable, international WiFi access service for our membership.”

Caroline Berry, Trustive’s Sales & Marketing Director commented that “Trustive prides itself on delivering high-speed but low-cost WiFi access in 65+ countries around the world and with the special discounted rates that have been negotiated exclusively for IAPA members, we are sure that many IAPA members will be reaping the benefits of this seamless and affordable service in the very near future”
